It is important to find a good butt acne treatment as soon as possible in order to get the problem cleared up.

Handling Butt Acne

Both teenagers and adults can experience a pimple like breakouts on the front and back of their thighs, forearms, stomach, and buttocks. Butt acne is particularly sensitive not because it’s more painful but because of where it’s located. Butt acne can be an embarrassment something you’d rather hide from your spouse or significant other.

Butt acne can seem to come and go sometimes an existing breakout can become worse. Acne breakouts on the buttocks may start out as small red spots. Soon these spots develop a head and release waste fluid. In some spots on the butt, these lesions may be larger and filled with blood. What should you do?

If you said you’d go to a doctor or dermatologist that’s the right idea. Dermatologists specialize in treating the skin, on any part of the body. Without a complete examination, it is difficult to determine the cause of these blemishes on the buttocks. Rather than purchasing creams, soaps, or other fad treatments over the counter, it is best to get advice from a physician who understands your symptoms.

While consulting a doctor or dermatologist is the best idea, there are some things that you can do to keep skin healthy, on your butt or elsewhere. An adverse reaction to soap, laundry detergent, or other beauty products can cause considerable skin irritation. Any product with unnecessary perfumes or scents could be the culprit. If you’ve recently changed the products you use in your cleaning routines, you may want to check the ingredient list and give this information to your doctor. That sweet-smelling shower gel could be causing your butt acne.

Consider the fact that, most of the time, your buttocks are covered by clothing that can cause perspiration. Sweat can also cause pimples and other irritations, so make sure that you wash your body with cool water and hypoallergenic soap following exercise. Wearing absorbent material and natural fibers will help reduce the amount of time that sweat irritates the body, and will clear up many cases of buttacne. Also, make sure to remove your clothes and shower immediately the following exercise because longer exposures to sweat and dirt cause a greater probability that pimples will occur. Butt acne may also be caused by friction from ill-fitting underwear. Wearing a lot of artificial fibers, like polyester or nylon, could also be the problem.

Even when the blemishes are driving you crazy, try not to pop or squeeze pimples, especially butt acne that is so often further irritated by clothing. Also, try to make sure that any body creams or medications used on butt acne are not oil-based and do not contain perfumes. Eating a healthy diet and making sure to stay properly hydrated by drinking plenty of water are also great ideas. Butt acne doesn’t have to be a pain in the butt. Consulting with the physician and exercising good common sense can make a big difference.
